Another Milestone! DP teaching team now has 3 MWs!

August the 30th, 2019It’s an extraordinary day for DP today! Edward Ragg and his wife Fongyee are doing two different events in different hemispheres of the world, yet today has been a red-letter day for them!Hot off the press from the Institute of the Masters of Wine, we are very proud to announce that both Edward Ragg and Gus Zhu have passed all stages of the MW examinations and have achieved the title of Master of Wine.Everyone here wishes these two – right now in Australia and America respectively – the heartiest of congratulations and cannot wait to join in the celebrations for this achievement.
DP has gone from strength to strength and its teaching team now has 3 MWs ！
Edward Ragg MW and Fongyee Walker MW will continue to live in China, furthering their work in the Chinese market, while Gus Zhu MW(the first ever Chinese national to gain the title) will continue to enjoy his ‘flying wineteacher’ life, dividing his time between the two shores of America and China.
Fongyee said, on hearing the news, ‘I am so happy that not only my husband joins me in living as a Master of Wine in China, helping Chinese wine lovers to achieve their dreams, but also that Gus Zhu, who came to DP as a young university graduate in 2010, has achieved the rare and humbling distinction of being the first ever Chinese National to achieve this title.Although the IMW does not keep records of the MWs of the world by nationality (and indeed many MWs like me have 2 or more nationalities!), it is a significant step in the development of wine culture here that Gus has achieved this.
